How to use

What it does

Convert a color between HEX, RGB, HSL and HSV. Edit any one field and the other three update instantly, or pick a color with the native color picker. There is also a WCAG relative-luminance contrast checker to tell you whether a foreground/background pair is readable.

Example

Type #3366CC and you get:

HEX: #3366cc
RGB: rgb(51, 102, 204)
HSL: hsl(220, 60%, 50%)
HSV: hsv(220, 75%, 80%)

In the contrast checker, set foreground #111827 and background #ffffff to get a ratio of about 16.7:1, which passes both AA and AAA.

Contrast standards

WCAG 2.1 requires at least 4.5:1 for body text (AA) and 3:1 for large text (≥18.66px bold or ≥24px). The stricter AAA level asks for 7:1 and 4.5:1 respectively.

FAQ

Q1.Why does editing one field update the others?
All four formats describe the same color. The tool keeps an internal RGB value, so any edit recomputes the other three so they always represent the same color.
Q2.What does a 4.5:1 contrast ratio mean?
It is the WCAG AA minimum for body text — the ratio of relative luminance between foreground and background. Higher is easier to read; large text only needs 3:1.
Q3.Is my input uploaded?
No. Every conversion and contrast check happens in your browser, and the tool keeps working offline.
Q4.What is the difference between HSL and HSV?
Both use hue and saturation, but HSL uses lightness while HSV uses value for brightness, so the same numbers can look different. Pick whichever you prefer.
